Hanneke Smits

Hanneke is responsible for the partnership investment team in London, who focus primarily on the screening, analysis, selection and monitoring of private equity partnerships outside the United States. In addition, Hanneke works with other members of Adams Street Partners, LLC, Chicago, to serve the needs of existing and prospective clients, and is an advisory committee member of eighteen limited partnerships.
　　Hanneke joined Adams Street Partners in 1997 from Pantheon Ventures and has eleven years experience in Fund investment. Prior to that, she worked in Hong Kong and Amsterdam for multinational companies. Hanneke speaks four languages: native Dutch, English, French and German. She also has basic language skills in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

Ward Mosmuller

　　Ward Mosmuller (1961) studied Molecular Sciences at Wageningen University and took his PhD-degree in 1993 in Bio-organic Chemistry. Mosmuller has build up a broad experience in advising Life Sciences companies with, among others, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Senter.
　　Upon finishing his PhD-research project he started working for Senter, agency for technology and innovation. Among others, he was the coordinator of the national research program on Catalysis/Bio-catalysis, advisor and knowledge manager for Life Sciences. In 2001 Ward Mosmuller joined PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was one of the key figures in the national Life Sciences team of PwC.
　　Ward Mosmuller is author of various scientific and popular scientific publications. In 1998 he got his MBA-degree at Delta University in Utrecht. The subject of his thesis was the technological cooperation between industry and universities.
　　Since October 2002 Ward Mosmuller has become the managing director of BioPartner Network. BioPartner stimulates entrepreneurship in life sciences and aims to improve the entrepreneurial climate and culture in life sciences at Dutch universities and research organisations. As a result, BioPartner has the objective to have supported at least 75 new established Life Sciences companies at the end of 2004.

Ting Zhang

　　Ting Zhang is the founder and Managing Director of China Business Solutions Ltd. China Business Solutions has been helping many UK hi-tech companies with China market research, partner selection, IPR protection, China company intelligence and technology transfer. The company is also the UK liaison office of Shanghai Technology Stock Exchange (STSE).
　　Ting Zhang has many years experience of international trade and investment in China and Hong Kong and extensive knowledge of Chinese business practices. Previously she was General Manager of a Chinese import and export company with an annual turnover of US$30 million. Prior to founding China Business Solutions, she worked as a product manager for Standard Chartered Bank in London, overseeing the bank’s global product risk management with a specific China focus.
　　Ting regularly speaks on China related issues at academic conferences and business seminars. She holds an MBA degree from the Judge Institute of Management Studies, Cambridge University, and a BA degree from Shanghai International Studies University.

DENIS MARNANE

　　Denis Marnane is the Head of Equity & Venture Capital in Investment Services Directorate of Enterprise Ireland. Enterprise Ireland is the National Development Agency and helps Irish companies build their competitive advantage through innovation, company development, marketing and finance.
　　Denis is responsible for the implementation of the Seed and Venture Capital Measure of the Operational Programme 1994-1999. He is also responsible for managing Enterprise Ireland’s investment portfolio in indigenous Irish hi-tech companies, circa 300.
Denis previously worked in the company development area of Enterprise Ireland, working with companies on strategic development and re-engineering.
　　Prior to joining Enterprise Ireland he worked with the State Bank and was appointed by the Bank as Chief Executive and Director to a number of companies to help ensure their viability at critical stages of their development.
　　Denis has worked closely with Irish Government Departments and the European Union in structuring Venture Capital Funds in Ireland. He has negotiated the commercial and legal agreements for all 16 of the Venture Capital Funds set up under the Seed and Venture Capital Scheme 94-99 and also 15 new partnership Funds set up under the 2000-2006 National Development Programme. He sits on a number of Boards and Advisory Boards attached to the Funds on behalf of Enterprise Ireland.

Jos B. Peeters
