Brief introduction of meeting:

　　From December 6th to 7th in 2002, China Venture Capital Research Institute co-organized “2002 Greater China Region Venture Capital Financing Summit” with Zero2ipo in Shenzhen Wuzhou Hotel. We invited more than 30 famous experts and senior practitioners from U.S.A, Hong Kong and Taiwan to attend the event and delivered speeches. There were more than 400 professionals from domestic and international venture capital institutions, investment departments of listed companies, investment banks, accounting firms, advisory companies, experts and scholars of universities and research institutions, some domestic corporation representatives and entrepreneurs also attended this conference.

　　This conference was the largest venture capital meeting in China in 2002. Vice Prof. Siwei Cheng , Chairman of Standing Committee of National People's Congress ,sent a congratulatory letter for the conference. Mr. Yingli Liu, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen attended the meeting and made the opening speech. Ms. Judy Tsui, Dean of Business and Information Systems School of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Mr. Wei Chen, Director of Shenzhen Venture Capital Association presented the greeting remarks on behalf the organizers; Mr. Xinyi Zhuang, Director of Securities Association of China made an excellent speech. Mr. Gehui Chang, Vice Secretary in General of State Economic and Trade Commission and Mr. Robert Stillman, Executive President of Auxiliary Fund for Small- and Medium- Sized Enterprise, also took active parts during the event.

　　Ms. Shaohong L. Liu, President of Hong Kong Venture Capital Association, Mr. Qiang Sun, President of China Venture Capital Association, Mr. Boyuan Wang, Director of Taiwan Venture Capital Association, Mr. Yujun Zhang, General Manager of Shenzhen Stock Exchange attended the meeting and made excellent thematic speeches.

　　Dozens of famous entrepreneurs coming from domestic venture capital institutions and venture capitalists gathered together to make an extensive discussion, meanwhile Annual ranking and awarding of China Active Venture Capitalists aroused huge interests from the audience.

　　The forum consisted of the following topics: "Thematic speech", "Roundtable forum", "Project road shows”, "Project exhibition" and "Special report". Venture capital investors, entrepreneurs and senior management were invited as the keynote speakers to deliver reports on operations and practical case analysis. In addition, “Project roads shows” was held during the conference time with attendance of dozens of domestic and international investment institution representatives, who kept a close touch and made extensive discussions with representatives of enterprises. Such novel forum was highly praised by all the conferees and have been regarded as a significant innovation in investment forums.

　　The scale of this forum was quite considerable, which attracted the interest of the media including three channels of CCTV, Guangdong TV, Shenzhen TV, People's Daily, 21st century Economic Report, China Economic Times, China Securities Journal, China High-tech Industry Journal, Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Hong Kong Xin Pao, Hong Kong Economic Report, Shenzhen Daily, Shenzhen Commercial Daily and others. More than 60 media companies extensively reported this grand occasion and Guangdong TV station tracked the whole progress, which made this forum become the widest and most influential activity in the investment industry of the year.

　　The success of this conferences and the operation experience exchange with overseas venture capitalists will contribute to the enrichment of the Chinese investment institutions, where venture enterprises can study advanced theory of investment, different ways of controlling the risk properly and the setting-up and improvement of the mechanisms of Chinese venture capital.
