¡¡¡¡Inaugurated
in March 2002, the China Venture Capital Journal is
the first academic quarterly in China in the field
of venture capital that integrates academic research
and real-life practices. Prof. Cheng Siwei, Vice Chairman
of the Standing Committee of the National People's
Congress, is the academic advisor of the journal.
Since its inception,it has followed the standards
of international academic publications, and set quality
as its first priority in reviewing submissions. It
publishes authoritative articles with proactive thinking
and practical significance, and collects important
views from business and academic communities as well
as from the government sector. Both academics and
practitioners in the field of venture capital have
recognized the quality of the journal. The China Venture
Capital Journal has attracted a great deal of attention
from domestic and international communities. Indeed,
many venture capital firms, research institutions
and policy-making departments have selected the journal
as a must-read.

¡¡¡¡The
venture capital industry has attracted much national
interest since the Central Committee of the Chinese
National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA)
put forth the proposal "On Development Acceleration
for the China's Venture Capital Industry" at
the first Session of the Ninth Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in 1998. In recent
years, China's venture capital industry has undergone
rapid progress. Not only is it playing an increasingly
important role in the development of the high-tech
industry, it has contributed to growth of the overall
market economy. As a young industry, many issues concerning
the venture capital in China still needs to be further
studied and explored. China Venture Capital
(CVC) provides a venue for the exchange of ideas concerning
further advancement of China's venture capital industry.
¡¡¡¡Established jointly by the Hong Kong Polytechnic
University and China Venture Capital Corporation,
CVC pools the resources and strength of the two organizations
from Hong Kong and Beijing respectively. Published
by the Oxford University Press, the journal combines
theory, practice and policy into one periodical. Circulated
internationally, the journal will help China's venture
capital industry to grow along in the international
model.
¡¡¡¡The editorial team of the CVC journal comprises
of prominent academicians, policy-makers and leading
venture capital professionals in China and other countries.
The journal covers issues ranging from international
updates to policies and regulations from a theoretical
and practical perspective.
¡¡¡¡As a young journal, CVC needs the support of the
academic and business communities. We hope that it
will grow into quality industry publication with far-reaching
impact that can help further the progress of China's
venture capital industry.
