Profile of Innovative
Economy Engine-World Venture Capitalism and China
|
Ever
since the reform and opening up, China¡¯s economy has
enjoyed concerted growth for more than two decades and
its remarkable achievements have drawn wide attention
from all over the world. However, the dramatic development
was gained at the expense of huge capital input, tremendous
consumption of resources, low economic efficiency and
inferior productivity and serious environmental pollution,
as the consequences of the growth mode of the extensive
economy. This economic growth mode has seriously aggravated
many bottleneck problems incurred by resources, energy
shortages and environmental pollutions etc. Transformation
of the mode of economic growth, comprehensive adjustment
of the economic structure and resolutely developing
innovative economy are the utmost important strategies
of China at the moment. |
The
Fifth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee
of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has brought to
light the need to ¡°take enhancement of independent innovative
capability as the strategic base for scientific and
technological development and as the central link in
the adjustment of economic structure and transformation
of the mode of economic growth¡±. ¡°Independent innovation¡±
is not just about science and technology, but one of
the foundations for the national strategies that will
affect the whole economy. It has become one of the focuses
for the "11th Five-Year Plan". We shall all
roundly construct a national innovation system through
technological innovation, management innovation and
institutional innovation to ensure that China¡¯s economy
will obtain healthy, consistent and sustainable development
in a fairly long period. |
Experiences
from countries and regions such as Europe, U.S and Israel
etc have also implied, innovative economy has been the major
drive for the sustainable economic development for these countries
and regions, and venture capital is the power engine for innovative
economy. Aggressively developing China¡¯s venture capital industry,
creating a sound atmosphere for start-up companies and innovating
culture system and legal support system have become the common
understanding for more and more government officials, scholars,
